America’s One Stop Operating System

This is an opportunity to have a hands-on experience using the newest tool in the America. s Workforce Network. America’s One Stop Operating System is the ETA sponsored, browser-based information management, case management, program delivery, and decision support tool that was designed to meet the business needs of WIA programs. Using the AOSOS demo site and the Version 2.0 prototype, an AOSOS expert for the AJB Service Center and/or a representatives from AOSOS Consortium of States will guide workshop participant through the AOSOS Self-service, and Mediated (Staff Assisted) system components. Consortium State representatives will also be available for individual consultations on AOSOS.

Texas OSCAR program

This workshop will examine two new tools available to assist the workforce development system. The first, the SOCRATES system, is designed to be used by all Texas local workforce development board planners as a comprehensive set of tools for those who perform regional labor market analyses. It is also excellent for researching regional Texas labor markets and identifying occupational training possibilities or to justify new program submission and approval. The second, the OSCAR system, is an integrated occupational product designed to help residents of Texas make rewarding career decisions. Assessment tools using the Work Importance Locator and the Interest Profiler are integrated into OSCAR.

ACK tools are a new group of special programs that allow users to find the answer to specific questions. This workshop will let users try out the following tools, and more: 1) Employability checkup – get a snapshot of your ability to find a similar job at a similar wage if you became unemployed today. 2) Employer locator – more than 10,000,000 employer listings, includes local maps. 3) Job description writer – a great tool for employers. 4) Financial aid advisor – search thousands of available aid programs
General Information on ACK Training
JETTCONĀ is providing a special resource for participants this year. We are using one computer lab throughout the conference to present the six modules of the national training program on America’s Career Kit. This year One Stop staff in every State will be participating in this train-the-trainer program. This is your chance to see what the training is about. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for each module they attend. In addition, we will have a special 7th session that lets participants learn about the new tools available in ACK. You may attend one or more of these workshops and get hands-on training on the electronic resources designed to help employers, workers, job seekers and others be successful in the competitive workplace of the 21st century.
